I also want to make sure everyone is aware of the donations that the Board voted on proposed by Meg Tyre, Scholarship and Donation Chair. I am proud of Meg and the work she has put in so that LGCR can “make a difference” with these allocations: $500 GCA General Scholarship fund; $100 NY Committee; $250 to WAFA; $100 to Accommodation Rye Town Park; $100 Reade Sanctuary; $250 to Garden Education Center; $250 to the Native Plant Center at WCC; $100 to the Accommodation Rye Free Reading Room in the form of library books. For the second year, we will give $1200 to the Accommodation Rye Nature Center for a summer intern whose job this summer will be planning and installing an edible garden. In addition we will keep you posted as the Blue Bird funds that were raised at our holiday luncheon will be allocated shortly.
